Partnership announcement

PowerboatPro today announces media partnership with powerboat rally franchise organization BladeRun Western Europe. Based in the UK, BladeRun international developed their concept for powerboat rallies and lifestyle parties that revolve around the powerboating lifestyle. The concept is being franchised and BladeRun Western Europe, based in Rotterdam the Netherlands, will hold the next BladeRun event from 22 until 25 September.

The rally will involve three stages with world class parties in every city visited. Rotterdam, Antwerp and Ostend will be participating cities in this upcoming BladeRun event and PowerboatPro will cover the full four days of fun both on and off the water.

The event organizer of BladeRun Western Europe says: "we are really looking forward to cooperating with them and to the coverage of our next event on PBP. It is our firm believe that two A-brands like BladeRun and PowerboatPro will strengthen each other in our common goal to get more and better exposure for powerboating with the general audience. I think PowerboatPro plays a key part in reaching this goal. It is my opinion that every powerboating organization, whether they organize rallies or races, should look for cooperation with PowerboatPro."

Peter van Gameren, together with Virtual Spectator co-owner and chief editor of PowerboatPro has to ad: "We are really proud to have BladeRun choosing us as official media partner. BladeRun is a really exciting brand in the powerboating world. As PowerboatPro it is our goal to make information about powerboat racing and lifestyle easily available to both fans and general audience alike and we always strive to have a close cooperation with all organizations we report on. With BladeRun choosing us as partner, it tells me we are on the right track to achieving those goals and I am looking forward to our continued cooperation in the future."

BladeRun Western Europe, organisers of the BladeRun Rally due to depart Rotterdam today, have been forced to postpone the event following a last-minute license issue relating to the Antwerp area. The decision was taken after it became apparent that legal wranglings could overshadow this successful formula for powerboating adventures.

The issue in question, which only came to light on the eve of the first ever Dutch-organised event, relates specifically to the running of commercial events on inland waterways. The Belgian authority's original interpretation of the event's status was suddenly revoked, requiring BladeRun Western Europe to re-apply for a commercial license.

"We had no option but to postpone," explained bitterly disappointed event promoter. "The new license could take more than two weeks to arrive. It left us in a very difficult position and the only responsible option was to rearrange although the BladeRun Saturday night party in Rotterdam will still go ahead as planned."

BladeRun combines competition, speed, glamour and entertainment with themed party nights featuring top DJ's from the US and Europe. "Our competitors are naturally unhappy with the last minute postponement but most have already confirmed their involvement when the event is rearranged." the promoter adds.

Within the coming weeks, BladeRun Western Europe is expected to announce revised dates in September 2010.

The one and only BladeRun rally Western Europe is ready for take-off with roaring engines. Only four weeks left before people should be aware of water splashing out of the Muse. In collaboration with the party planning professionals at Superworkx BladeRun is organizing three events at night time that carry the name BladeRun Exclusive. Surprisingly, the somewhat controversial finish party will be held on the Maasboulevard.

Mind you...the one in the city of Rotterdam. On July 17, Club Vie will be magically transformed into Holland's most exclusive club venue. The finish party will be hosted after the exciting finish of the rally in the Muse and the award ceremony in the Eau Lounge Club.

Prime Minister Gonzi of Malta even paid a visit to Team 26. Needless to say he was impressed by the Donzi! Dan Cramphorn and Kim Collins showed why they are the perfect ambassadors of BladeRun. Wearing the BladeRun lanyards they explained to the PM why they love powerboating in all kind of ways. We will soon have more news about the collobration between Team 26 and BladeRun.

Just as powerboating is looking for a welcome boost from venues and sponsors, BladeRun announces 30 fully paid-up competitors, the backing of the City of Rotterdam - BladeRun is one of the feature events of Rotterdam's summer initiatives, which include the Tour De France - and a sponsorship deal with Hilton Hotels.

The three-day powerboating rally will start on the New Muse, passing under the stunning Erasmus Bridge as the boats head towards Antwerp, then onto Ostend, before returning to Rotterdam and a homecoming party for 2000 people. Featuring top international DJ's from the USA and Europe, large-scale themed parties feature on all three nights as the BladeRun organisers generate interest amongst a range of audiences.

Though the BladeRun experience is more about adventure, camaraderie and fun than speed and power, several international powerboat racers from Belgium, Germany and the UK have already signed-up, with more expected to follow.

"We would welcome the involvement of more racers from across Europe as this will further boost the international aspect of the spectacle." explains the event promoter.
Schiedam; not so chic after all

The countdown towards the kick-off of the rally season this summer has officially begun! Only six weeks to go before the thirty powerboats participating in BladeRun Western Europe start their engines. The BladeRun itinerary is packed with 'BladeRun style' activities from beginning to end. However, there is a significant change in the grand finale. The docks of Schiedam are no longer the location of the StereoSummer party.

What happens in Schiedam stays in Schiedam
Towards the end of last year the city council of Schiedam pitched its docks to the BladeRun organization as the official finish line of BladeRun Western Europe. BladeRun as well as the organization behind StereoSummer have been prepping ever since to turn this grand finally into a spectacular event. Tickets were sold fast and the line-up with Dj's and special performances looked promising. Schiedam's docks looked impeccable for a brilliant finish and homecoming of the rally. Unfortunately, the council of Schiedam has made promises they can't keep for undisclosed reasons. As a result the StereoSummer party on July 17th will be cancelled.

A new location
BladeRun, who always counted on the council's full corporation, is utterly disappointed and saw a need to relocate the finish line of the rally. Luckily BladeRun can count on numerous loyal partners as the Hilton hotel group and Traqz whilst working towards the event in July 2010. The organization will most definitely announce an alternative hotspot for a spectacular finish in the Rotterdam area very soon. BladeRun is all about a happy end.

Show your personality
Love for the water, adventure and prestigious parties AND encountering unanticipated developments: that is BladeRun. The organization looked very much forward to its corporation with the city council of Schiedam and StereoSummer, but has put its determination into the highest gear to find a welcoming venue for its finish party.

Saturday morning 27th of February, the organizers of BladeRun - Western Europe and ambassador Gino Passchier started the first try-out for the big event in July. We left early in the morning with a 350 HP Capelli rib from Rotterdam to Antwerp over the inland waterways. It was a good day, it was cold but dry and the length of the track was perfect despite the locks.

We came up with a lot of ideas to surprise our participants on day 1. Although the crew has a lot of nautical know-how there were a couple of valuable moments and obstacles where attention in preparation is needed.

Day two was a whole other story! Off course, when we arrived in Antwerp we had to explore Antwerp by night, BladeRun style! So after a couple of hours sleep through the alarm clock we rushed back to our boat. During our quick breakfast no one thought of checking the weather before we headed for Ostend, over sea..... The first hour was great, rock and roll and very refreshing after a night in Antwerp. After that, we met Cynthia, the hurricane! Long story short, we did not make it to Ostend because of the massive waves! Our driver picked us up in Breskens (NL) and we did the last part by car to Ostend. After a couple of preparation meetings in Ostend we headed back to Rotterdam. The first try-out is now official. Instead of only one try-out we now need an extra one!

British international powerboating duo, Kim Collins and Dan Cramphorn, have confirmed that they will break from their pursuit of the 2010 P1 World Championship title to compete in BladeRun-Western Europe, a 3-day powerboat rally that starts in Rotterdam on Thursday July 15th.

"The Dutch organisers are very professional and with 50 teams already signed up it promises to be one hell of an event," confirms Collins. "I would encourage anyone with a taste for a party and a half decent boat to get involved."

The British pairing will compete in BladeRun with a new Burnico 41ft prototype, built exclusively to race in P1's Evolution Class in 2011.
